Fosterville Site Visit

19 April 2024 | Fosterville Gold Mine, Fosterville, Australia

The ACG is facilitating a site visit for some attendees of the Paste 2024 conference. Agnico Eagle has generously offered their Fosterville mine for a site visit. Agnico Eagle seeks a diverse group of site visitors and there are restrictions on the number of visitors from the one company.

About the site

Fosterville Gold Mine – operated by Agnico Eagle Mines Limited – is the largest gold producer in the state of Victoria. It is a high-grade, low-cost underground mine, situated 25 km east of Bendigo and 130 km north of the city of Melbourne.

As of the end of 2022, the mine had extracted over 3.9 million ounces of gold since the commencement of the current operation in 2005. It features highly profitable gold production, as well as extensive in-mine and district-scale exploration potential.

With over 800 people employed at the mine – who are mostly local to the area – Fosterville Gold Mine strongly believes in engaging with and contributing towards the local community.
